Daniel Hofmann is EVP & GM, MSP platform business unit at Proofpoint. In this role, he oversees the strategy, operations, and performance of the group’s Managed Services Provider (MSP) division, ensuring that its service portfolio, partner ecosystem, and customer experience are aligned with the company’s long-term vision. An independent entrepreneur and influential voice in the security industry since 2004, Daniel has built a career marked by continuous innovation and global impact. In 2007, he founded Hornetsecurity in Hannover, Germany, creating one of the first cloud-native service platforms focused on secure email communication, including advanced spam and virus filtering. Under his guidance, Hornetsecurity evolved into a global cloud security provider, offering a broad portfolio of managed services used by organizations worldwide through its regional offices. Serving as CEO since 2007, Daniel led the company’s strategic development, international expansion, and product innovation, establishing its reputation as a trusted leader in cloud cybersecurity. Hornetsecurity was acquired by Proofpoint in December 2025.
