Microsoft (MSFT.O) is due to buy a 4% equity stake in London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG.L). The move is part of a 10-year commercial deal to move their data platform onto Microsoft cloud.
Part of the agreement involves a minimum cloud-related spend of $2.8 billion during the partnership.
Microsoft will lead the digital transformation of LSEG's technology infrastructure and Refinitiv platforms on to the Microsoft Cloud.
